Coral Peonies

Hi everyone.  Not sure if peonies come in coral, but that's the great thing about making our own ... freedom to choose whatever colours you want.

I had three things on my mind when making this card.  First, I wanted to join in the Poppy Stamps challenge this month which is CAS.  Then I wanted to use navy and one other colour for The Flower Challenge.  I also needed a sympathy card and when I was figuring out the sentiment for this card, it just worked.  I rarely use navy on my cards so thanks to TFC for taking me outside my colour box!

Masked off the bottom and side of my card front and sponged with Chipped Sapphire.  Placed a stencil over top and used a baby wipe to remove some of the colour, leaving a subtle design for my background.  Stamped and heat embossed the peonies in liquid platinum, watercoloured with distress inks, and die-cut using a matching die to my image.  Stamped the sentiment and popped up the flower for added dimension.  This was a quick and easy CAS card to make! :)

Hope you are all staying safe.

Bright Flowers

Hi everyone.  Today is another watercoloured flower card.  I hope you aren't getting sick of seeing these.  I can't help myself, flowers are my favourite cards to make, and I mostly watercolour.  This time I used distress inks and then a little watercolour pencil work to add in some shading.  I also used watercolour paper this time and really had fun with that.  It is so different than working with my usually mixed media paper.  I love the texture of the paper and how it adds to the overall look.  Once I finished watercolouring, I wasn't sure how to finish the card.  I decided to tear it ... not sure it's the best design, but it's something a little different.

This is the first time this has been inked up, so I'm sending it over to the NBUS (Never-before-used-schtuff) #15 Challenge.

CAS Christmas June Challenge

Hi everyone.  It's a new CAS Christmas challenge starting today, hosted by Linda (Lin's Craft Corner).
We would like to see a bell (or bells) on your CAS designs.

Stamping Bella had a huge sale and I just couldn't resist! :)  I bought several stamps including this adorable Jingle Gnomes. :)

Quick and easy card to make.  I stamped the image in permanent black ink and watercoloured with distress inks.  Added some crystal glaze to the berries and wink'd the ribbon.  Stamped a fun sentiment to finish.  I was smiling the whole time I was colouring this. :)

CAS Mix Up June Challenge

Hi everyone.  Welcome to the new CAS Mix Up Challenges.  If you haven't looked at the Challenge blog yet, please do visit to see the changes.

This month's challenge is for Mixed Media and is hosted by Susan (Cat's Inkcorporated).  Susan wants us to have a play with embossing vellum.

There are several ways to emboss vellum.  My card today uses heat embossing.  I stamped my image with Versamark and heat embossed with liquid platinum.  I then watercoloured the image using magicals.  I love the shimmer of these paints!  Most watercolour mediums will rub off vellum, but these lovely powders mixed with the slightest amount of water, stay permanent.

I mounted my watercoloured, heat embossed vellum onto a piece of acetate for stability.  Then popped it up over my card base with a thin white frame.
