Delicate Branches

Hi everyone.  Have been wanting to play along with the CAS - Colours & Sketches challenge all week, but just found time this morning.  Love the colours this week and decided to sponge a background with them and then stamp a simple silhouette.  Hope you like.

Here's the colors:

Stamps:  Delicate Branches (Inkadinkado); A Word For You (SU!)
Paper:  White (C.C. Designs); Whisper White (SU!)
Ink:  Pumpkin Pie, Kiwi Kiss, Pool Party, Basic Black (SU!)
Accessories & Tools:  Big Shot, Square Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Modern punch, sponges, adhesives, and dimensionals

Here's a close-up:

I have been working on my next set of card candy and made a prototype ... but decided to change it, so went to remove the items from the acetate sheet, only to find that the dimensionals that I had used to adhere the items worked too well. :)

I thought they would pop off the acetate sheet easily and then re-attach to a card, but no ... they attached the items to the acetate really, really well and are difficult to remove.  Oops!!

For everyone that has received the candy from me ... I apologize.  I'm going to use temporary adhesive from now on and hope that fixes the problem.

  1. This is stunning Loll! I was sitting outside late last week admiring the sunset and the tree silhouettes on a nearby hill, and asked my hubby to take a pic of the colours so I could make him a card. He loves silhouette scenes (he also has a good camera and takes better pics than me! LOL) He will LOVE this! :) Cathy x

  2. These colors work beautifully for a sponged background! I love that delicate silhouette! LOL, if you want something to stick, it falls off. When you need it to come off easy, it sticks like crazy! I haven't had a problem. I'm bigger than those dimensionals! And after lifting Jack for 2 years, I've got some muscles. Sore and achy most of the time, but they still work! Can't wait to see what you come up with next!

  3. Excellent job using the colors from our CAS - Colours and Sketches challenge! I love how you've framed the image, too. Thank you for joining us again this week - I hope to see you back again next week! :)

  4. Loll,
So simple and so very stunning, LOVE It.

  5. Beautifully done, Loll. I'm so glad you found the time to join us! I cannot wait to see your next card candy! Thanks so much for playing along at CC&S xx

  9. How very lovely. As for your candy, I couldn't bear to take it out of the package. I display it like you sent it and it ALWAYS makes me smile!

  10. Such a beautiful sunset colored sky with your branches silhouette. Great card & fantastic sponging. Haven't tried to use my 'candy' as yet, so dunno if your dimensionals are gonna stick too well. Thanks for the heads up, tho, so I can ease them off carefully and not mess up any of the lovelies! TFS & many Hugs

  11. Love your beautiful image, fantastic use of our colours this week. This really is a stunning card. Thanks for playing along with the colour challenge at CC&S this week

  12. Beautiful card Loll! I'm a sucker for sponged silhouette sunsets. My card candy was well-adhered to the backing sheet, but I managed to gently pull away the remaining foam core from the back of the candy (you just get left with a thin layer on the candy), then used a new foam pad.

  13. Ohhhh, the background of this is beautiful. Love the swirly colours. Perfect with that stamp.

  14. Gorgeous! Love the beautiful sunset! Thanks for playing along with us at CAS Colours & Sketches!

  15. This is stunning Loll - you have used those colors in such an amazing and elegant way. LOVE it!!

  16. Stunning, Loll, this is soooo gorgeous ... soooo beautifully framed! I love it! Anita :)

Thanks so much for leaving a comment. I love hearing from you! Loll :)
