Total Cuteness

Hi everyone.  Time for a new challenge at Addicted to CAS.  This time, the challenge is hosted by me!  I chose this fun word ...

I used a super cute stamp from our Sponsor, Create a Smile.  Show us what Cute means to you ... make a CAS (clean and simple) card and join in the fun!

We're so happy to have Birgit (Rapport fran ett skrivbord) joining us as Guest Designer this month. Click HERE to see her "Cute" card, and the cards from the rest of our very talented design team.

For my card, I created a bokeh background. :)  I used a small, damp sponge dauber to add colour and fun.  I saw this done by Christine (owner of Create a Smile) a few years back when we were on the same Design Team (at ATCAS!), and I've wanted to try it since then.  I thought this made a great background to show off this sweet image.

The little penquin in the gift box is paper-layered ... very similar to paper pieced, except each layer is added on top of each other, rather than it being one layer of pieced parts. Hope that makes sense! :)  And I sponged around the outside edges of each piece to give the image lots of depth.

I hope you'll check out the Design Team cards at ATCAS and join in the fun!  See you in the gallery! :)

This also works for the Happy Little Stampers March CAS Challenge - Sponging.  I sponged around the penguin and gift image ... and used sponge daubers for the background.

And this is my second entry into the NBUS Challenge #4 --- this is the first time using this adorable stamp!

Stamps:  Penguin Party (Create a Smile); Sentiment Sampler (Paper Smooches)
Paper:  White (Neenah); Basic Gray (SU!)
Ink:  Black (Memento); Distress Inks:  Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Marmalade, Ripe Persimmon (Tim Holtz)
Accessories & Tools:  Stitched Mat die (Lil' Inkers), sponge dauber, sponges, white gel pen, crystal effects

Challenges:
ATCAS #60 - Cute
HLS March CAS - Sponging

Another great card, Loll! I like your bokeh background - it looks a lot like stenciling but can be a bit more random. Also like your tip about sponging some ink around the edges of the die cut for depth.
