Christmas with Markers

Hi everyone.  One more card for the CAS Mix Up Challenge - Ink with Markers.

The card above uses an old stamp that I've had for many years.  I coloured the stamp with markers, colouring all areas of one colour first and then stamping.  I repeated with the other two colours.  The dove was stamped a second time onto white card stock, fussy-cut, layered with Wink of Stella (shimmery finish that doesn't show in the photo), and paper pieced on top.

I also wanted to try stamping onto patterned paper.  It turned out really well.  I love the soft colour of this pale turquoise and white polka-dot paper.  I used it to make three cards that I'm posting today.  Still have paper left over and hope to make more of these. :)

Here's the close-up of the above card:

The other two cards, which have the image inked with black and/or coloured markers and stamped onto patterned paper.  Parts of the image for these cards were also stamped onto white card stock, coloured with markers and paper pieced on top.  There is a mix of marker direct to card stock and watercolouring with markers.

Here's the close-ups ...

and ...

Thanks for stopping by!

Love the soft colour of the polka dot paper - it really works well as a background for stamping. Beautiful peace dove card - the shimmer must make it lovely in real life. And great mailbox and snowman with parts of them fussy cut and paper pieced.

Three sweet and beautifully marker colored Christmas cards, Loll. I love how you stamped your images on the soft polka dot DSP and added some paper piecing on your 2nd and 3rd cards. TFS my friend. Hugs..

Three beautiful cards! I love the idea of coloring on designer paper. Your choice of paper is so perfect for this. The dots mime the snow and looks wonderful. Your coloring is spot on as always and love the images you chose to use on these. I like that color as a background color for the images too!

I've never stamped on patterned paper, automatically thinking the pattern would show up. Thank you so much for showing us that it works so well! The white dove looks so beautiful and elegant on the light blue polka-dots background. Love the color palette of the second card - especially the choice of Smokey Slate for the mail box. The snowman of the third card is just adorable with great shading! The falling snow embossing is a very nice touch! Hideko xx

More patterned paper for these three cards Loll, and the green polka dot background is perfect as it is not too dominant and allows your beautiful images to stand out, beautifully coloured too. x

A beautiful combination of several techniques. Stamping on a patterned background looks beautiful. I love the white pigeon and a great idea for making a layer of snow with a white card. I also love the sweet snowman, it looks so beautiful on a rich background. Your ideas are brilliant.
