Oh Christmas Tree!

Hi everyone.  First time inking up this fabulous stamps from Penny Black.

Placed tree stamp in my misti, along with a piece of Mixed Media paper.  Used markers to ink up the stamp, spritzed with a little water and then stamped.  Added too much water, so blotted the image lightly with a paper towel.  Dried it with my heat tool and repeated the inking and spritzing a few more times until I was happy with the colours.

Splattered the background with diluted brown and blue-green inks (same colours used on the tree) and stamped my sentiment in brown.  I like the muted colours of this card.

I decided to use the same stamp, this time with brighter colours.  I used the technique of adding versamark to the image, adding Brushos to the inked stamp, spritzing with just a little water and stamped.  The image turned out really well.  I still had lots of colour left on the stamp so repeated with spritzing a little water and stamping.  I ended up with three prints from the one inking with Brushos.  Below is the second print.  The first one was darker, the third one was lighter.  Three cards in just a few minutes! :)  Gotta love that!  I added some red glitter glue for the tree lights.

Stamps:  Christmas Glow (Penny Black); Christmas Sentiments (Penny Black)
Paper:  Mixed Media Paper (Strathmore 140 lb. 400 Series)
Ink:  Distress Inks:  Gathered Twigs, Peeled Paint, Pine Needles, Mustard Seed (Tim Holtz)
Accessories & Tools:  Water mister, paint brush for splattering

Oh Loll, I love both of these, the image is fantastic with the brushos and with your markers! I love that you got three cards with the brushos!

OMG Loll, I Love all three of your artsy watercolored Christmas tree images. So beautiful with the different watercolor products. I am sold...I have got to get this tree stamp. Were you able to make A2 cards by trimming the tree a bit? I know it is a big stamp. Trimming still looks beautiful. How fun to get 3 cards with your Brushos and Versamark technique. Thank you sooo much for sharing, dear friend. Happy Holidays, Nancy

What a wonderful effect using water techniques to stamp this tree. Both your muted colors and your bright festive ones look beautiful on this stamp which is now on my wish list. I will have to try the Versamark and Brusho technique too so thanks for describing it and reminding me. These look so fun to do.

So pretty, Loll! I love the effects of your watercoloring on both cards...WOW! The brightness of the colors when you used Versamark and Brushos is so striking, and I love all the splatters on the first card...you really make it look easy, yet I'm sure it's all very time-consuming! Thanks so much for sharing your incredible talents with us :)

Both are fabulous - love the muted one from using the markers, but also think you got great results with the Versamark and Brushos - I must try that technique again.

Both cards look fabulous, Loll! Love the gorgeous layers of the beautiful muted green! The spatters are just like falling snow. The second card with the vibrant Brusho green tree is truly "merry and bright". Great color choice for the pot. It goes so well with the green. The Christmas Glow stamp is a beautiful stamp itself, but the ways you used the stamp made the image look so arty and full of life.
