Reach for the Stars

Hi everyone.  It's the middle of the month already so time for the October CAS Mix Up Reminder.  This month's host is the amazing, Bonnie.

Had fun making this card!  The background is a piece (1/4) of a large washi tape gifted to me by my friend Christine.  Over top I've used a NBUS stencil that I recently bought from Funky Fossil.  Isn't it cool!!  The silver foiled stars really shine on top of the dark background.

I added a silver heat embossed sentiment, but it doesn't shine nearly as much as the foil.  I'll have to try foiling my sentiment next time. :)

Close-up ... hard to see all the shine.
I hope you'll check out the reminder post to see the amazing foiled cards by our talented Designers, and from our wonderful Guest Designer, Michele.  I know you'll be inspired!

Hope you'll play along!

I'm adding this to the gallery at CAS Stencil, where the challenge this month is patterned paper.

Stamps:  Noteworthy (STAMPlorations)
Paper:  White card stock (Neenah 110 lb.)

Accessories & Tools:  Cosmic Washi tape (gift from Christine); Star Stencil (Funky Fossil); silver foil (Decofoil), Laminator, silver embossing powder, heat tool

when I saw you card I just had to see how you did this. It's gorgeous. I have purchased the swirl star dies and ended up inlaying all those stars. I LIKE this much better. Finding those bitty stars from the die was quite challenging. LOVE that washi tape. I've never seen the wide stuff before.

Those stars not only look luminescent but dimensional too. What an incredible piece of washi tape. I was sure that you had watercoloured. The heat embossed sentiment is appropriate and perfect...wouldn’t want to steal the star show. Another beautiful card dear Loll. xxx

Wow! I love these stars and the feeling of movement they give! I thought you'd blended the night sky. What a fantastic idea to have Washi tape to do the trick! An awesome card, my friend!

Gorgeous card, Loll!! The washi tape is a beautiful background, and your foil stars are wonderful. I've got to get busy and make a foiled card for the challenge.

Loll, I have been trying to resist that stencil... you are breaking down my resistance with the fabulous card - your foiling is amazing, especially over that deep dark blue washi!!

Yes I agree Loll foiling is different from anything else to achieve the high shine. The silver really pops against the dark washi tape and this is one striking card and I love the stencil too x.

What a gorgeous galaxy background with the beautiful shiny stars, Loll!
I love the flow of the stars and you placed the sentiment in the perfect place. I would have never though of foliling on washi tape. Thanks so much for your inspiration!

Love the background but those foiled stars take pride of place. They really 'shine'. I do like the embossing of the sentiment. Adds a different look.
