Penny Black - Layered Leaves and more ...

Hi everyone,  Today's cards use a few of the new stand-alone dies from the new release.  First, I'm sharing a CAS (clean and simple) masculine birthday card made with Layered Leaves die 51-633.

I die-cut the leaves from white card stock.  I used a watercoloured piece from my stash ... this has a bit of sparkle, so I'm pretty sure it is a mix of Lindy's magicals on watercolour paper.  I placed the die-cut leaves over the watercolour piece and traced with a pencil, then fussy-cut.  Adhered the white over top of the watercoloured background and then adhered to my card front.  I stamped a happy birthday sentiment (smile today! 30-461) in weathered wood distress ink.  It matched pretty well! :)

Close-up ...

My second card uses the beautiful die, Creative Curves 51-611.  This makes a lovely backdrop for any image.
The bright white card front and black die-cut panel create a lot of contrast in this design.  A pretty stamped butterfly (Wings and Vases 30-704), coloured with zigs and fussy-cut is all that's needed to complete this design, along with a simple black stamped sentiment, Good Wishes 30-541.

My third card uses the new Bench (51-621) die.
Created a very loose watercolour wash for the background from green and blue inks.  Stamped a leafy branch from the Country Charisma stamp set 30-690, watercolouring in two shades of green ink.  Popped up the die-cut bench, which was sponged in two shades of brown ink. Finished with a blue ink stamped sentiment, Good Wishes (30-541).

Thanks so much for dropping by!

Three beautiful cards Loll and I love the leaves with the Lindy Magicals behind the die cut, and the cover die as you say is a wonderful backdrop to any image and your butterfly is so pretty, and then lastly the die cut bench with the lovely watercoloured background and leaves looks great. x

Wonderful masculine colours on your first card and a great idea to fussy cut around the pretty die cut rather than infill it all with die cutting. I shall definitely be filing that idea away Loll....Thank you x. Great backdrop on card number two, with a beautiful butterfly x. A delicate and perfect little scene on card number three. Fabulous cards and inspiration Loll, Thank you x.

Wonderful cards, Loll! Especially the first one with those gorgeous gradations of sparkly colour behind the leaves. The second one has such a pretty whimsical butterfly - great contrast with the black die cut background. And the third makes me long for a sunny day and a peaceful bench to sit on.

Three really beautiful cards, Loll! Your watercolor leaves are so pretty and I love how you placed your bright butterfly on the swirly background. I must say I'm partial to the lovely scene you created on the last card...the loose watercolor wash is perfect for the background and I love the realistic effects you created with your inks on the bench! xx

They're all 3 beautiful Loll! I've been eyeballing that leaf die for awhile and I just love what you did with it for a masculine card! Your butterfly card is so pretty in all it's simplicity too, and I just love the sentiment on your sweet bench card. Hope you're staying healthy and safe! Hugs. :0)

What a beautiful trio with the PB new dies, Loll!
I especially love the colors of the leaves. Just amazing - and with a little sparkle, more amazing! Great color choice of the sentiment too.
The second card looks modern and impactful. Fantastic color contrast.
Your sponging makes the bench look so realistic! The loose and light watercolor wash in the background is a really nice touch.

I LOVE the colours behind the lovey leaf die! Stunning! I got similar dies and still haven't posted the card I did... Beautiful bright butterfly on the birthday card... Love the font on that too.I chuckled at the bench card... Not because there is anything wrong with it... It's fabulous - It just reminds me how empty all the park benches are right now... Stay well and safe Loll!

You are one busy lady. Beautiful card, I especially like the first, the leaves seems to hide a scenery of a lake side with bushy autumn trees in the center. Great array of styles dear friend xx

Beautiful water color piece behind those die cut leaves. I am in love with the creative curve die and love how you used it. The butterfly is so pretty and bright. I wish I could be outside sitting on that bench right now and enjoying the sunshine. It's still too cold here and I'm looking forward to spring.

I love all of these Loll, but especially that first one. I have to pull that die out and pair it with a pretty backing like you did. Thanks for the inspiration.

Three gorgeous makes, Lolly! Those leaves made me drool! I love leaves and those are fave colors ... enabled again! Your curved background does make an awesome background for that pretty butterfly, or for any image! Enabled again. And how unique is that bench? Fun to see something new and different like this. You've created a serene scene to showcase it! Enab ... sigh! Take care and be safe!! Hugs, Dolly

Three amazing cards, Loll. I love the background under the leaves of the first card. In the second card, I love the beautiful background die. The third by adding an additional dimension to the bench creates a wonderful spring breeze. Three unique cards
