Penny Black - Farm Fresh

Hi everyone.  I'm back with another two cards using one of the new images from the Penny Black Springtime 2022 Release.  This time I'm using the Farm Fresh (40-834) stamp set.  This is a set of three imaegs, but I have only used one for both my cards for today.

I LOVE this gorgeous jug of lavender.  It's so rustic and pretty at the same time.  For the card above, I kept the design CAS (clean and simple) so that the image is the star.  I only added a small grounding of watercolour and a sentiment (Not Older, Better 30-896) to finish.

I inked the image using distress markers (Peeled Paint, Wilted Violet, Vintage Photo, Gathered Twigs), spritzed with a fine mist of water and stamped onto a piece of mixed media card.  I used a small paint brush to move the ink around.  Stamped again to re-define the lines and then added the grounding at the bottom.  I thought the leaves needed a bit more colour so used a wet liner brush to add some wisps of Rustic Wilderness ink.  I stamped the sentiment in Peeled Paint ink.

Close-up ...
I'm sending the above card over to Color Hues #39 - Purple and Green.  This is my second entry ito the challenge ... love this colour combo!

For my second card, I used the same image, but only inked up the top portion (stems and flowers), using distress markers (Peeled Paint, Candied Apple).
I stamped once at the bottom of my mixed media paper and then stamped again without re-inking, higher up and slightly to the right.  I repeated that again for another stamping at the bottom right and more of the second generation stamping higher.  I added a few more of the light images to fill in my garden.  I softly sponged around the plants with more of the Peeled Paint ink and sponged the sky with Tumbled Glass ink.  I stamped the sentiment (another stamp from the Not Older, Better 30-896 set), using black ink, heat embossing in clear so it stood out among the flowers. :)  To finish I added a frame (Semi-Circle Stackers 51-706) and popped the panel up with foam.

Thanks for stopping by!

Great way to stretch your stamp sets Loll. I love lavender and am planning to add some to my new flower bed at the front of the house. The sun it gets should get those essential oils going! :)

Two gorgeous cards Loll and the jug of lavender is so fresh and pretty and your really CAS interpretation on the first with the added sentiment is just perfect, and it was an inspired idea to use just the flowers for the second and changing the colour makes it look totally different, and such a pretty frame around it too. x

I love the rustic simplicity of the first card, Loll. and the sentiment is wonderful. What a great way to get more out of your stamps by using just the flower portion making a lovely field of wildflowers.

You used this stamp in such a versatile way. I do love the pitcher and you captured the rustic look of it. I wish this could be a scratch and sniff card - wouldn't that be wonderful. Your garden looks beautiful. A great new frame too.
