Hi everyone. You may have noticed that I haven't been posting much lately. I'm sick with a virus that seems to want to hang around. Hope to be back creating and posting on a regular basis soon.
A quick post of more cards for July's Group of Seven technique - Colouring Dry Embossing.
For the card above, I started with a piece of Audrey Blue card stock (SSS) --- absolutely LOVE this colour. I dry embossed with Holiday Greenery folder from Simon Says Stamp and then lightly swiped white pigment ink over top to catch the highlights. I dried the ink and repeated this a few more times to intensify the white ink. I splattered with diluted white acrylic paint. LOVE the soft look of the blue with white.
I die-cut the Peace Edger from white card stock and then the Peace die from more blue and adhered it on top of my dry embossed panel; then adhered the panel onto a white card base.
I'm sharing this card with NBUS Challenge #53 ... first time using my Peace Edger die. :)

Here's another card using the same inkpad swiping method to colour dry embossing. Another Christmas card ...
I dry embossed a white panel of regular card stock using the Poinsettia Embossing Folder from Nellie's Choice. I then used my Candied Apple distress ink pad to swipe directly over top, with light pressure so that I would catch the highlights of the embossed design. I finished the panel by using a metallic gold pen to colour over the center of the poinsettias.
The panel is popped up on top of a red card base and I added a green die-cut Joy (Joy Edger die from Penny Black --- not using the edger part), which I coated three times in UTEE (Ultra thick embossing enamel) and heat set.
I'm sending the above card over to Merry Little Christmas Challenge #51.
These two cards were very quick and easy to make. Love this technique!

Oh Loll, I am so very sorry you are under the weather! We need to get you back on your feet so we can enjoy your beautiful and amazing cards! Lin and I have been playing with EF and having a lot of fun making more Christmas cards for our stash. You have given me more inspiration! I love both of these, Loll. "Peace" is the perfect sentiment for the first one as it looks so peaceful in that soft shade of blue. The second one is gorgeous on the red card base, and the dark green sentiment is so striking against it.
Love the white ink swiping on the blue with the edged sentiment! What a beautiful Christmas card! Love the red inked poinsettias too! Your swiping is so clean and crisp! I'm glad you are feeling better now and hope each day you will see more improvement.
Sorry you have had this nasty virus Loll and hope you manage to get rid of it altogether very soon. You have made two fabulous cards using a couple of beautiful 3D embossing folders, and I love that wonderful blue with the white inking over the top which really highlights the fabulous holly and berries, and the 'Peace' die cut layered sentiment goes perfectly. The second poinsettia folder is equally gorgeous and the bright red petals and metallic gold centres to the flowers against the bright red background card really pops..love the green glossy die cut sentiment too. x

Sorry to hear that you've been laid low by a virus, hope it isn't too draining. There seem to be quite a few people complaining of colds that keep on going, me included. You know something is doing the rounds when the paracetamol shelves are empty at the supermarket! Get well soon. :)

I can see why you love the blue so much - it's a beautiful shade and now that die is added to the toilet roll list!
Candied Apple is a colour I have but rarely use so now I might give it a go and I never think of using the massive jar of UTEE I own in this way - it really makes the sentiment pop from the front.

Your peace card definitely has a peaceful feel to it, Loll. So soft and serene and beautiful. You must have a light hand because the red on the poinsettias went just where it should have. Beautiful!

I love, love, love your first card Loll! That blue is stunning, the white on the embossed areas with the white splatters is just so dreamy, right out of a winter scene! Love the peace panel as well. A favorite for sure! Your second card is equally stunning in the bright red! Love that embossing folder, your ink hit all the best areas. The gold finishes off the poinsettia flowers perfectly, then the big "joy" is the perfect ending. Love both of these, as much as I love traditional Christmas colors, that first card is really my favorite I think because of the softness of it. Hugs, Brenda
It's amazing how quickly a card can be made with such gorgeous embossing folders and sentiment dies. The blue is soft and peaceful, and the red exudes festivity and joy -- perfect combinations! I'm really sorry to hear you've been sick. You don't need this. I hope you recover quickly.
WOW...two absolutely BEAUTIFUL cards Loll!! I am in LOVE with the color blue you used on your 1st card and think I may have to go shopping! Lovely, lovely card!! I'm loving the Poinsettia card too...soooo pretty! So sorry to hear you've been dealing with a virus...I know how much it can drag you down! (I'm still trying to get rid of this Covid virus that's been hanging on for almost two weeks now and I've had enough...time for it to be gone!!)
