More Torn Edges

Hi everyone.  A few more cards for Group of Seven Design Element - Torn Edges.
For the card above, I smooshed the background with Lindy's Magicals, which have mica powder mixed in.  You'll see the shimmer more on the close-up photo.  I embossed a piece of vellum using the Kitchen Weave embossing folder (Cuttlebug).  I then tore a diagonal strip off the top, leaving the rest to cover the card front.  I added Delicate Leafy Branch die (Simon Says Stamp), cut from Cobalt Velour Tonic Mirror Card Stock.  I stamped the happy birthday onto a white sentiment banner using a mix of Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch distress oxide inks.  It worked to match the leafy die colour. :)

Close-up ...
First time using this awesome embossing folder (gift from a friend long ago --- what was I waiting for??!! :)  I'm sending the above card to NBUS Challenge #58.

... and one more.  I use torn snowhills for many of my Christmas cards.  I love the randomness of the tear. :)

This card was made using leftover ink from this card.  I sopped up the ink onto hot press watercolour paper, stamped my image in black and then splattered with diluted white and black acrylic inks.  A torn piece of hot press w/c paper was added for the snowhill.

Thanks for stopping by!

I don't know which card is more beautiful. The first one with an amazing blue background and this wonderfully embossed vellum. And the second one, despite the gray colors, is an amazing design. The background is gorgeous and that black written deer... stunning design, Loll.

I love the pretty blue and purple toned background using Lindy's Magicals Loll, with that lovely shimmer, and the added torn vellum embossed with this check type pattern makes a great added layer, and the beautiful leaves cut from blue mirror card look wonderful over the top, and a lovely matching sentiment too. Such a super stag silhouette on the second over that mop up piece, which you used as a background here, and the torn snowhills and black and white spattering work brilliantly. x

The embossed and torn vellum adds a wonderful look to this background, Lolly! Love the bright blue metallic leaves and how you mixed inks on the sentiment for a perfect match! Another beautiful Christmas card with the torn snowbank and wonderful reindeer!

Both cards are fantastic. Love the blue/lilac hues of the birthday card, but then the stag card is so atmospheric. Can’t choose a fave - but am loving your torn edge cards. X

That embossing folder is awesome. I put away things people give me and forget to use them. I'm glad you got this some love. The blues are gorgeous and the colors on the deer card blend so well. Two great cards.

Lol, I am loving your torn edges, sometimes mine look a little wonky! But yours are lovely and perfect! Wow, that embossing folder is really cool looking, I love how you have the torn edge coming down like that and your beautiful Lindy's Magical colors that match the foiled leafy branch!!!

Both your cards caught my eye. That blue one is such an eye catching design. I just had to read how you did it. And LOVE the Studio Essentials stamp. I have that one and always loved it. I'm crazy about the background you created for him too!

I thought I recognized that beautiful deer card, Lolly. I love the design with the torn paper and the moody schplattered wintry colors you achieved for the background! But that bright birthday card steals the show for me this time! I love how much interest the embossed and torn vellum adds to an already sensational design! Thank you for inspiring everyone to use their NBUS! Happy New Year! Hugs, Dolly

These are just beautiful, Loll! The blue is enchanting. I always say those Magicals truly live up to their name. I have some sitting in a drawer. Made a mess the first time and need to try again. I do love the deer stamp! What a great background with the splattering. It's just as magical as the Magicals!

These are two gorgeous cards, Loll ! I especially love the first one with these stunning blue mica powders. What a great idea to emboss the vellum, it looks so beautiful with the blue mirror leafy die cut on top. Wonderful card also with the stag. I have to remember this technique of torn paper. xx
