I wanted to make a dainty, feminine card. :) A layer of dry embossed vellum is added overtop of my card front. I was hoping it would show more in the photo, but it looks as though I simply dry embossed my card front. In real life, you can see the difference. My card front this time is ivory ... not my usual white.
The vase of flowers is stamped twice in black and heat embossed with clear before cutting out with matching die. I watercoloured the flowers only on one of the images and cut out around the bottom of the flowers. I popped the flowers up over top of my vase of flowers to add some extra dimension and then placed it inside a frame.
To finish, the sentiment is stamped in black ink and heat embossed in clear to match the rest of the stamping on the card front.
Close-up ...

What a pretty card, Loll! I love the embossed BG and can just barely see the difference with the vellum layer! I love using vellum, also! The vase of flowers is beautiful! Sue N
Oh my, this is so lovely, delicate and feminine.
Such a pretty vase of flowers Loll, shame you can't see the vellum, bet it's so effective. :)
Love the background texture and the scalloped frame - they set off the beautiful vase of flowers perfectly.
Beautiful Loll! The texture and elegant elements go together so well!!! Thanks for playing with us at Just Us Girls!
Definitely feminine and very pretty, Loll. The double layer of flowers was such a great idea and even though it doesn't show, I can imagine the delicacy of the embossed vellum.
Loll, you've really made your vase extra full of flowers and they're so pretty in pink! I see the vellum and think it's just the ticket over your creamy card base!

I love all the texture and dimension of this card, Lolly! Those watercolored flowers are so pretty, especially how they cascade over the front of the vase! Embossed vellum is always so pretty and ethereal looking! A beautiful card, my friend.

Goodness! This is beautiful, Loll. I love the florals, but also your textured background and frame is awesome. This wonderful card is sure to be loved
The vellum does have a softer look than if you had embossed onto white card and the embossing is so pretty, as are the pink flowers Loll, and the black heat embossing on the vase has a wonderful lustre, also a really pretty frame and finished with a lovely sentiment...a fabulous card. x
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL card Loll, and I can see the embossed design in the vellum just fine...especially in the close up picture! Your flowers are so pretty in pink and I love the dimension you gave them! Beautiful vase too! Lovely, lovely card my friend!! Hugs. :0)

What a lovely floral bouquet, colored to perfection! The embossed layer of vellum adds soft texture and I adore the scalloped frame. A work of he-art!
Your vase of flowers is so pretty. I like how you colored and cut just the flowers to layer over the stamped image. Love all the texture too. TFS

Loll... gorgeous floral!! Love the interesting frame and embossing, both help those beautiful flowers pop. Thanks so much for sharing with Just Us Girls.
I do love a pretty vase of flowers, especially when they're Penny Black and watercolored so beautifully! The frame and embossing add just just enough to the design, and the vellum softens it all sweetly. It is most definitely a very feminine card. You nailed it, Loll!
That embossed vellum looks so softly pretty behind your lovely framed vase of florals Loll! Julia xx
