Cardinal Christmas

Hi everyone.  Today I'm sharing a new-to-me stamp Cardinal Christmas (Penny Black).  I heat embossed the image in liquid platinum embossing powder and watercoloured with Distress Inks.  It turned out well, but the image was hard to capture with my camera.  These are very small images, and with the heat embossing, the image looks blurry in the photo.  It's really beautiful.  Next time I will simply stamp in ink and watercolour, which will give me a sharper image for photos.

To finish the card I stamped a sentiment (Festive Snippets - Penny Black).  A dotty border was added (Hemstitch die - Spellbinders) overtop of red cardstock; then adhered to my card base.  It just adds something special. :)

Sending this card to the following challenges:
Darnell's IDEAS Calendar - Week 2 - Dies - Die was used to add the perforated frame around the image.  It makes such a difference to the card.
NBUS Challenge #85 - first time using this stamp image.

WOW! Both for your card and your magnolia!! This stamp is truly beautiful. I love all the fine details, and the platinum embossing really works and adds elegance to this card. I love the subtle sheen of the embossing powder, even if the image details are a bit faded. It looks truly amazing. Of course, your watercolors elevated this image to a higher level. I love these huge magnolia blossoms. They're my favorite magnolia blossom shape; they look like spherical candles. Gorgeous!

Those magnolias stole the show, Lolly! Thank you for sharing the stunning photos! Like your card, I'm sure they are even more beautiful in person! I love that sweet cardinal image with all that graceful holly spilling out. The camera loves the shine of that platinum, but I can still see your wonderful shading and I love the dotty border! Thank you for using the I.D.E.A.S. Calendar and inspiring everyone to use their NBUS! Hugs, Dolly

THat is a lovely stamp, colored nicely. I can see details. Thanks for sharingyour magnolia. I do miss the National Arboretum - we used to visit every spring to see the magnolias and cherry blossoms. My favorite was a magnolia tree with soft yellow blooms. It was fun watching it grow over the years.
