The Flower Challenge #52 Reminder

Hi everyone.  This is the reminder post for The Flower Challenge's January Challenge.  This month, we are looking for Embossing (heat or dry).  Remember to use florals as your main image.  Thank you!
This time I used dry embossing of a new-to-me folder from Simon Says Stamp called Peony Bundle.  It's one of those 3-D embossing folders that gives a very deep impression.  I used mixed media paper so that I could watercolour over top with Distress Inks.  But before embossing, I did add a light sponge of soft brown over top of a stencil (Cubist from Crafter's Workshop).  It's very subtle in the background.

I finished the card by stamping a sentiment in purple to bring out the purple in the small branch of berries at the top of the design.  Using DOX ink gave me a true purple that was not effected by the green watercoloured leaves in the background.

I hope you'll check out the challenge blog to see the amazing Embossed cards from the rest of TFC Designers.

Hope to see you in the gallery!

Stunning card, Loll. Incredible images, and your watercoloring is as always, impeccable. These blooms remind me of the peonies in my mom's garden, so thanks for the lovely memory trigger! LOVE this card. xo Bev

Wow Loll this is gorgeous. I wouldn't have thought this was an EF, looks just like a watercolour! Great tip about inking the EF to give a pale outline. :)

I have a profound respect for those of you that can color an embossed image. I had no idea this was embossed and at first glance thought it was no line coloring. This is so well done particularly your shading. I don’t even dare try something like this. Just gorgeous.

Stunning card Loll - love that embossed flower, but what really 'makes' the card to my eye is the subtle stenciling in the background.
Stay safe

I have just recently bought an embossing folder like this one. They are fun to use, and I love the authentic look that you achieved with this one. Makes me want to take another stab at my folder.

This is really remarkable, Lolly, if I'm understanding the technique correctly. Every time I've tried painting an embossed image, it's all over wonky, but this is a smooth and beautiful no-line watercoloring! That 3D e/f is going to sell out when people see this! Perfect sediment, too! Love, Dolly

WOW! WOW! Loll, this card is stunning! I love how you added the watercolor to the embossed one, because the end result is simply breathtaking. It's hard to put into words. This is one of those cards that you never forget

wow...so totally gorgeous mf.
I am missing all of you on the WCC and my friends over at the FC too. I am so super busy so I know I made the right decision by stepping down. I didn't want to disappoint anyone by not being able to keep up with it all.
I really have little time to craft right now, which makes me sad but happy to be with my little ones even though we are in lockdown again here in Ontario.
take care mf.
xx Karen
