Twofer Challenge #10

Hi everyone.  Welcome to the start of the October Twofer Card Challenge #10 - Harvest!  I recently bought a stamp set from Inkadinkado that has this beautiful wheat image.  Thought it would be perfect for the theme this month. :)

Remember to follow the word prompt from the badge above using the instructions from the badge below.  And please include a picture on your blog (and in the link to the challenge) of the two cards together.  Thank you!

My first card uses a paper towel background that adds lots of visual texture from the soft colours and quilted design that transferred from my paper towel.   I stamped the wheat image (three stocks of wheat) twice in Antique Linen for the background.  The last stamping is done in a darker brown (Brushed Corduroy).  The sentiment is also stamped in Brushed Corduroy to finish.  The card front is popped up on foam for added dimension.

Here's a close-up ...
For the second card, I used a product for the background that isn't new, but new-to-me.  It's called Liquid Metallics.  I used purple and red, smooshing the purple first and then red on top.  I love how the colours did stay separate, but also blended beautifully into this dreamy looking background.  I stamped the same wheat image in Versamark and heat embossed in silver, along with the sentiment "Hello" which didn't want to photograph very clear.  I cut the panel down to about 2 1/4" by 3 1/2" so there's lots of white space in the background to balance the strong colours and popped it up on foam for more dimension.

Here's the close-up ...
Please check out the challenge blog to see the amazing Harvest cards from our talented Designers and wonderfully talented Guest Designers, Linby (Crafty Linby) and Liz (Crafty Sunflower).  Then come play along!  The challenge runs for two weeks - Oct. 10th-24th.  We'd love to see you in the gallery!

Wow! The two cards you created for this twofer are equally beautiful, Loll! I adore the traditional take on the harvest theme with the colors and texture on the first card. That paper towel sure adds wonderful interest. And the colors and blending on the second are so striking. Excellent work! Thanks so much for sharing. :)

While I'm generally drawn to color, and your purple/red background is gorgeous, Loll, there's just something about the soft earthiness of the first card that I love.

love your background on the neutral colous, I don't seem to be able to keep my paper towel sheets separate so have lots of muddy messes. Your pink versions is so bright and cheery :)

Both cards are so beautiful. The stamping of the wheat stamp and the colours you've used on your first card look fabulous, along with the paper towel background. Also love the sentiment stamped in the same colour as one of the wheat images. Such a vibrant and pretty second card. Those liquid Metallics look wonderful and are new to me too x Thank you for the fabulous inspiration x

What beautiful cards Loll - love that background where you transferred the pattern from the paper towel, and the subtle background stamping, the the boldly repeated image. The metallics have also made a wonderful background.

Two terrific twofers once again, Loll. The wispy effect of the wheat on your first card gives wonderful movement. The paper towel background complements it perfectly. I’m unfamiliar with liquid metallic, but it looks so cool. The vibrant colours are a standout. xx

The wheat is perfect for the "harvest" theme and both cards captured that look. I echo the paper towel effect as background being so cool. The liquid metals are beautiful and the silver is just gorgeous.

The same stamp, and so different cards. I love them both, pink with its intensity and yellow and orange with its lightness. Great versions of this stamp.
