Snow-covered Trees

Hi everyone.  I have another fun challenge from a blogging friend of mine.  Nonni (Korttikarkuri) is running a Christmas challenge on her blog and she asked me to join her team and design some cards to (hopefully) inspire others to join in.

The first challenge starts now (Oct. 1st) and runs until Dec. 24th.  The theme is "Let's Get Inky - Stamp a Happy Christmas".  Here's Nonni's guidelines for the challenge ...

"Let's create Christmas cards with stamping playing the main role!  You could use fun techniques like masking and combine background stamps with smaller stamps.  Or how about using non-Christmas stamps for Christmas and playing with some embossing powders?  Or stamping with watercolors?  Or tone-on-tone stamping maybe?  The possibilities are endless.  Let's get inky and creative!  You can choose any style from CAS to vintage, whatever you like the best.  You can use embellishments too - just don't cover up your fabulous stamping completely!"

I got very inky with sponging the background for my card - so fun!! :)  I randomly sponged Wild Wasabi, Tempting Turquoise and Pacific Point.  I used my embossing buddy to cover my sponged card stock with powder so that it was nice and dry.  I stamped my trees in Versamark and heat embossed in white (I'm loving the heat embossing again!!). :)  I cut some snow drifts and added Dazzling Diamonds along the top of the drifts and also a little in the trees ... unfortunately, the glitter is hard to see in the photo.

Here's a close-up:

Stamps:  Lovely as a Tree (SU!); Handy Christmas Greetings (Amy R)
Paper:  White (C.C. Designs); Whisper White (SU!)
Ink:  Wild Wasabi, Tempting Turquoise, Pacific Point, Bermuda Bay (SU!)
Accessories & Tools:  Big Shot, Oval Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Stamp-a-ma-jig, white embossing powder, heat tool, dazzling diamonds, adhesives, and dimensionals

I hope you'll join in the fun at Nonni's blog.  There are some wonderful prizes available - don't miss out!! :)
