Dahlia Birthday

Hi everyone.  Today's card is a lovely bouquet of flowers (Dahlia Bunch - Pinkfresh Studio), with matching die.  I stamped in black ink onto mixed media paper and watercolour using my Zig markers.  It was fun to pull them out ... I haven't used them very much lately.

I die-cut the image and added it over a panel embossed with the Vine Canopy embossing folder (SSS).  To finish I added a simple sentiment banner using a retired stamp set from Stampin' Up!

Sending this card to a few challenges:
1) Darnell's IDEAS Sept. Challenge - Anything Goes.  First time using my Zigs after a LONG break. :)
3) Just Us Girls #745 - Mood Board.  So happy to be playing along.  I don't get to play very often because of the short timeframe for the challenges, but this just worked out perfectly.  Thanks for the fabulous mood board challenge Ina!!

Thanks for stopping by!

IDEAS - Dies

Hi everyone.  I'm back for another Monday, following Darnell's IDEAS Challenge (see graphic below) that she started last week to use her NBUS items.  I'm playing along with her to (hopefully) use a lot of NBUS items that have been collecting dust! :)  This week is "D" - Dies / Die-cuts.

For the card I used a beautiful stamp from PinkFresh called Blooming Branch.  I have used this stamp before, but never the die that matches it.  I stamped in black, heat embossed in clear and then cut apart the large die-cut to make a few branches of blooms.  I then watercoloured using Distress Inks (Kitsch Flamingo, Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, Ripe Persimmon, Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint).

I pulled out a NBUS die - Wooden Crate (Honey Bee).  Have to say it didn't die-cut very easily and I will have to use it with thinner card stock than the 110 lb. I used for this card.  But other than that, I absolutely love the flowers spilling out of the crate! :)  I used a few pop dots for some of the flower stems and for the front of the crate at the top.  It gives it more dimension.  I finished with a simple sentiment from AliExpress.  Since the wooden crate and the blooming branch die are NBUS items, I'm sending this over to NBUS Challenge #59.

I'm sending this card to a couple more challenges:  Seize the Birthday #277 -  Anything Birthday Goes.

... and ... Simply Clean & Simple February Challenge - optional:  Pink.  I do love pink, especially pink flowers! :)

Yesterday we all got together to celebrate my Mom's 95th birthday.   She struggles with her memory, but yesterday was a great day.  She really enjoyed herself ... and so did everyone else. :)  Jeremy was holding the cake for her and helped her blow out the candles.

Thanks for stopping by!

Reminder post The Flower Challenge

Hi everyone.  I'm happy to be back with a reminder card for The Flower Challenge #85 - Anything Flowers Goes.  This month we are celebrating the amazing ladies who have run The Flower Challenge for seven years.  Aileen and Viv are both stepping down from the challenge at of the end of this month.
The Flower Challenge will continue with Karren taking over the reigns.  YAY!!

For the launch of the challenge on Oct. 4th, I made a card to honour Aileen.  Today I'm sharing a card to honour Viv ...

Viv often watercolours beautiful, delicate flowers in pinks and purples.  She has already received the card. :)

I started by silver heat embossing Dahlia Bunch Stamp (Pinkfresh Studio) onto mixed media paper.  I watercoloured the image using Distress Inks (Kitsch Flamingo, Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet, Shabby Shutters, and Peeled Paint).  I cut the image to size and placed behind a black die-cut sentiment frame that I bought through Amazon.

First time using the frame, so I'm sending this card over to NBUS Challenge #55 (second entry).

Thank you for all your support Viv!!

Happy Mother's Day

Hi everyone.  Happy Mother's Day!  I'm sharing a quick and easy card I made for my Mom and took to her yesterday along with a bouquet of flowers.

This time I stamped my spray of flowers (Blooming Branch - PinkFresh Studio) onto patterned paper.  I used the matching stencils to sponge on colours for the flowers and leaves.  The sentiment (Beautiful Mothers - Simon Says Stamp) is stamped in black and I used my white Posca pen to add centers to the flowers.

Cosmos

Hi everyone.  Today's card uses the Cosmos Bunch stamp and stenciling set from PinkFresh Studio.  I've made a card with the five layering stencils before and I just love how easy they are to use.  This is the first time I paired them with the matching stamp - worked great!

I stamped the image in black ink and then used the stencils to sponge in the colours for the leaves and flowers.  I used a Posca pen to add white centers to the flowers.

I'm sending this over to Beautiful Blossoms Challenge #4, following their colours on the optional mood board.

I'm also sending the card to NBUS Challenge #50 (never-before-used-schtuff) - this is the first time I've inked up the stamp.

... and I'm playing along with May Stencil Fun Challenge - where the option this month is Flowers!

Thanks for stopping by!
