I just love this sweet image Cozy Cupfuls (Power Poppy).  This time I used Derwent Watercolour Pencils to colour my card.  These pencils were passed down to me from my son, Jeremy.  I use them very little, mostly for highlighting here and there, but today I had fun using them to colour everything. :)

Full Bloom - Dreams of Love

Hi everyone.  More from the Penny Black Full Bloom release.  Today's card uses a very, large, single flower that really makes a statement.  This image (dreams of love 40-677), is used along with the matching die and die sentiment, (dreams ... cut out 51-529).

This is a very CAS design with just the one flower and sentiment die-cut. The flower was inked with watercolour markers, spritzed with water, and stamped onto mixed media paper.  I blotted with a paper towel to create a subtle image.  I repeated until I was happy with the image.  Four colours of watercolour markers were used for the flower (green, light orange, dark orange, and light red).  Watercolour pencils were used to add some detailing to the petals and leaves.

I die-cut the same image from foam, adhering to my watercoloured bloom, and then adhered it to my card front.  The love sentiment is also layered with black foam under the black card stock.

Hi everyone.  I'm adding a few more cards to the CAS Watercolour November Challenge before it closes in three days.

I've done three smaller cards (square) with no-line watercolour.  I will be donating these cards to charity.

The cards are all done with the same technique, stamping the image in a pale colour and then watercolouring over top with distress inks.  I borrowed a beautiful stamp from my friend Susan, for the first card (above) and it has a little extra with heat embossing over the image in clear, adding a watercolour wash background, and white splattering.

Here's the second card using a Stampin' Up! image that I've had for several years, but this is the first time inking it up. :)  I need a LOT of practice colouring birds! :)  The background is sponged.

Third card is same technique.  I shared a card with this image earlier HERE.  I think I like this one better with the orange berries.  I'm happy with the shading and highlighting. :)

Darnell's NBUS #8 Challenge

Hi everyone.  Today's card is for Darnell's NBUS #8 Challenge.  She is celebrating her 5 Year Blog Birthaversary, along with running  3 weekly back-to-back NBUS challenges.

The first challenge runs from Jan. 16-22 and is Coloured Pencils on Kraft.  She is open to other types of entries too.  You can read her rules HERE.

I have never coloured with pencils on kraft before, but have always wanted to try it out.  I managed to get a bit of shading on the leaves and stems, but not so much on the flowers.  I'm sure there's a trick and I just don't know it. :)

I used a NBUS stamp that I've had for YEARS.  I got it on sale at Michael's and it has sat collecting dust.  I'm happy to finally use it.  Thanks again Dolly ... I probably would never have used this stamp if it wasn't for your challenge!

Fun, whimsical stamp so thought I'd pair it with a Paper Smooches sentiment.  First time using a staple on a card as well. :)
