Hi everyone. Another month has flown by as I continue to recover from surgery. I'm getting stronger every day. :) Today I'm sharing cards I made for the Group of Seven Cardmaker's blog using Alcohol Inks on Gelli Plate.
Please check out the details for how-to of this technique on the blog ...
Christine made several cards using the technique that she posted HERE. We were all so thrilled with her cards, we asked her to lead the group for a Zoom call in late April. Thanks Christine!
To be honest, I haven't had the best luck using my Gelli Plate that I've had for several years. But after seeing Christine demo using mini gelli plates, I had lots of fun using my newly purchased minis and ended up with several cards that I'm happy with - yay! :)
Following Christine's instructions, I used three colours of alcohol inks, along with blending solution on my 3" circle gelli plate. I used an air blower tool to move the inks around. I didn't want perfect circles, so left some edges without ink. I placed a piece of Neenah Solar White card stock over top and pulled my print.
For the card above, I used three alcohol ink colours and then stenciled over top with a honeycomb stencil from Magenta. I stamped a wildflower from the Meadow stamp set (Inkadinkado). The sentiment is from Simple Sentiments (Lawn Fawn). I used the sentiment stamp set for all three cards. :)
Close-up ...
I'm sending the above card over to April Stencil Fun Challenge. Happy to be playing along again this month!
And I'm sending the above card to NBUS Challenge #49. This is the first time I've used the honeycomb stencil. :)
... and I made a few more ...
Details of what inks and stamps I used on the above cards are listed below my signature.
I suggest that you use gloves any time you are using alcohol inks as they stain anything they come in contact with. As well, best to make sure your room is well ventilated ... I always have my window wide open. :)
We have a link set up on today's post at Group of Seven if you'd like to try this technique and want to share your makes.
