Thinking of You

Hi everyone.  Happy Valentine's Day to all who celebrate!  The last few weeks I haven't been on-line much.  I'm back to making cards and spending time in my studio.  I hope to catch up soon on visiting others.

Today I'm sharing a card I made using one of my favourite PinkFresh Stamps and die, Amazing Things.  I just love the beautiful image that has so much movement to it.

I stamped in Brushed Corduroy distress ink (a few times), and heat embossed in clear before watercolouring with more Distress Inks (mowed lawn, rustic wilderness, spiced marmalate, candied apple).

I added a bit of grounding for the flower with more brushed corduroy ink and also one of the sentiments from the same stamp set, popped up for dimension.  Before assembling, I used the matching die to emboss an outline around the flower.  I love this technique, which just adds a bit more emphasis on the image. :)

I'm sending this card to the folowing challenges:

I can see why this is one of your favourites, it is just beautiful and even better after it has had the Loll treatment. I hope you are doing OK xx

This is sooo pretty, Loll, and I really need to make a note of your embossing with the die for emphasis. I love that! It's good to see you today. I hope you're feeling better.

Hello Loll. Your flowers are simply luminous. I love the ombre colors in your watercolor. The perfect color intensity makes them look as if illuminated by sunlight. I agree that embossing the outlines with a die cut creates a wonderful effect. A wonderful, wonderful card.
I hug you very tightly, my dear Loll.
hugs,

I never think to emboss with a die around an image and I love the way it looks around your beautifully watercolored flowers, Loll. So glad to see you back.

A really beautiful card, I love the simplicity and the gorgeous colours. Thanks for the inspiration to emboss Distress inks, I haven't done that, and then to add the die to dry emboss, such simple things, but what a beauty your card has become with them. Thank you.

This is so lovely, Loll! I love the halo effect made by using the die to emboss around the image. I really need to remember to try this sometime. Your coloring on this flower is so pretty.

So pretty Loll, watercoloring with the Distress inks, lovely little grounding patch and popped up sentiment! I've been neglecting commenting as well - I have two craft shows coming up and I'm madly making multiples of cards for all occasions! At least it's making me use my 'stuff'! Julia xx

Such beautifully watercoloured flowers Loll, and such a great idea to embossed die around the them which emphasises them so well, and a lovely matching gold embossed and die cut sentiment too. x
