Hi everyone. For today's card, I had fun using one stencil three different ways. :) Sorry about the blurry sentiment ... it looks fine in real life.
I started with Fading Florals Stencil (Simon Says Stamp), creating a watercoloured background using the stencil monoprint technique. Once dry, added the stencil back over top, lining up the image and sponging with distress inks. Using small brushes and detail sponges to colour the stencil allowed me to do it without masking anything.
I cleaned off the stencil and added it back over top, lining up the image. A Frayed Burlay distress marker was used to outline the images.

Those lovely fresh colours and flowers speak of springtime to me. Now if it would only warm up a bit so that I could enjoy doing some spring gardening!!
When you're as creative as you are, my dear Loll, you don't need a stamp set and a stencil to create a card; it's as if you had a complete set. It's a great idea to trace the outlines in the stencil and create a beautiful image. Two great techniques: the stencil monoprint allowed you to beautifully color the background, and the small brushes worked wonderfully to color the individual flower elements. A wonderful card in spring colors!
